Contrary to Lynn’s claims, John told Matt Lauer Lynn was aware of what he was up to every step of the way
A wife who suspected her husband was having an extra-marital affair discovered his secret life and second wife on the phenomenally popular social-networking website, Facebook.
The woman, named Lynn France, wed John in 2005 in Italy. In the beginning, things were going all smooth but gradually she began to suspect something was awry after John started taking frequent business trips.
Facebook exposes Lynn’s hubby
Lynn’s curiosity led her to discover that her hubby was actually married to another woman through a simple Facebook search.
As the planet's largest social network, Facebook helps people connect and share with friends, family, and even business contacts.
Facebook proved a boon at least for Lynn who claims this web portal has helped her expose her cheating husband’s double life.
Lynn, 41, said she learned that John has married for the second time only when she saw a series of pictures of that second wedding on the Facebook page of John’s new wife, Amanda, according to a report by The Associated Press.
Lynn finds hubby married to someone else
She typed the name of the woman with whom she believed her husband was having an affair into the search box on Facebook and found John was cheating on her with another woman.
Lynn, 41, said she learned that John has married for the second time only when she saw a series of pictures of that second wedding on the Facebook page of John’s new wife, Amanda, according to a report by The Associated Press.
“There was like an album of 200 pictures on there. Their whole wedding," AP quoted Lynn, an occupational therapist from Westlake, a Cleveland suburb, as saying.
"I was numb with shock, to tell you the truth."
Wedding pictures
She discovered that John, with whom she had two sons after a fairy tale 2005 wedding, had married Amanda in 2008 at Disney World in Florida.
The pictures showed that John and Amanda wed at Disney World, Florida, showing John dressed as 'Prince Charming' and his new bride as 'Sleeping Beauty,' surrounded by footmen, AP reported.
Suspicion grew over the time
Lynn said she had grown suspicious when John grew distant and disappeared for long periods of time. Once, she found his passport at home when he was supposed to take a trip to China, AP reports.
In October, before leaving for another trip, she found a hotel website up on the couple’s computer screen, and when she went there, found John with Amanda.
“So I actually went there with a girlfriend, just to see for myself for sure,” she said.
“He was there with this girlfriend. I said, “Hey, I'm his wife. We've got a baby”.”
Amanda told Lynn that she was engaged to her husband.
"Sure enough, they were registered for a wedding at Target," Lynn said.
Husband tells different story
On the other hand, John has a different story to tell. In an interview aired Thursday on NBC's 'Today' show, John admitted that he has remarried but denied being a bigamist, insisting that his marriage to Lynn was never valid in the first place.
"I don't think I was cheating. If you have a marriage that's not right from the beginning, it's not right at the end," said John who appeared on the show with Amanda and an attorney.
Contrary to Lynn’s claims, John told Matt Lauer Lynn was aware of what he was up to every step of the way.
“I was not carrying on a double life, no way,” he said. “I’m no angel, OK? But Lynn knew everything I was doing.”
His lawyer, Gary Williams, added: "'While it appears that John and Lynda France were both under the impression, once upon a time, that they were married, the fact of the matter is that their marriage was never legally proper."
