Sandra Bullock is the highest-paid actress in Hollywood, according to the new list released by Forbes magazine. The Oscar-winning actress starred in a series of blockbuster films over the past one year, and consequently saw her bank accounts filling quickly.
She made an estimated $56 million from June 2009 to June 2010.
Sandra on a professional high
Despite going through a major turmoil in her personal life earlier this year, the actress, 46, had a great run on the professional front.
In February, she won the Oscar for ‘The Blind Side,’ which was made on a budget of around $30 million but raked in nearly $310 million at global box offices.
Another big hit for Bullock was ‘The Proposal,’ which was made on an estimated budget of $40 million, but grossed $320 million in global ticket sales.
Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz also make big bucks
Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz, each with earnings of $32 million over the past one year, tied for a second spot on Forbes list.
Though Witherspoon, 34, has not had any big releases of late (she was last seen in 2008's 'Four Christmases'), she is reported to have filled her banks by upfront pay days on two upcoming movies, 'How Do You Know' and the film adaptation of 'Water for Elephants.'
The actress lent her voice for 2009's animated film 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' Witherspoon also made big bucks as an “ambassador” for Avon.
Diaz, 37, riding high on the success of her Shrek films, also did well for herself with her recent flick, 'Knight and Day.' According to Forbes money from the superhit Shrek series, which made a total $2.8 billion in global box office collections, will last long for Diaz.
Jen Aniston still banks on FRIENDS?
Everybody’s favorite 'FRIEND' Jennifer Aniston was placed fourth on the Forbes list with reported earnings of $27 million. Though her movies did not earn much at the box office, the 41-year-old still makes money from her popular decade-long sitcom.
'Sex and the City' star Sarah Jessica Parker was fifth on the list of highest paid actresses. She is reported to have earned $25 million, mainly from her 'SATC' show and movies. The 'SATC' sequel on the big screen grossed $280 million at the global box office.
Besides, the fashionista’s perfume line is also a big seller, said Forbes.
Julia Roberts, who earned $20 million, was sixth on the list, closely followed by Angelina Jolie. Rounding up, the top ten highest-paid actresses were Drew Barrymore, with earnings of $15 million, Meryl Streep with $13 million and 'Twilight' starlet Kristen Stewart with $12 million.
