Snooki being led away by the Police.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of the ‘Jersey Shore’ fame was caught by the cops for unruly conduct during shooting of the MTV reality show. Polizzi was arrested in Seaside Heights, N.J., at around 3:25 p.m. on Friday.
Some beachgoers complained about Polizzi’s vexing behavior to the Seaside Heights Police Department and got her arrested. She was taken to police headquarters and later released.
Beer lands the brunette in trouble
Polizzi had reportedly been drinking too much, and under the influence, she just got out of hand.
Gossip website TMZ.com posted photos of the little brunette, sitting on the boardwalk and drinking out of a funnel or “beer bong.” They also clicked pictures of her in handcuffs, being led away by two uniformed police officers.
The petite party gal was booked by police after she was spotted intoxicated in public, a police source confirmed to People.
“She didn’t hurt anyone or get in a fight,” another source told the magazine. “She just needs to be in a drunk tank for two hours.”
Jersey Shore cameras, which were on for the third season of the show, kept rolling as the 22-year-old Polizzi got entangled in this mess.
I don't have to drink all the time to have fun. I'm a normal person too. I just like to have fun at the Jersey Shore. -- Nicole Polizzi
In the news for odd reasons
Snooki was in the news earlier this week, when President Obama said in an interview that he did not know who she was.
Polizzi’s gaudy fashions and quirky attitude makes her stand out on the popular show, which documents the lives of eight 20-something Italian Americans living together at a beach house.
The series is among the most popular programs on cable television. And with this “Snooki” episode, they just got to make more news, a day after the premiere of its second season.
Just for fun?
Originally from Marlboro, N.Y., Polizzi has been in trouble with the law for her drinking habits in the past. She was reportedly charged in the drunk-driving death of a high school classmate in 2004. However, later she was freed of the charges.
Addressing the issue in an interview with ABCNews.com last year, Polizzi flatly denied having any alcohol problems.
“I don't have to drink all the time to have fun. I'm a normal person too. I just like to have fun at the Jersey Shore,” she said. “I don't want everyone to think I need rehab. I want people think I'm a fun, nice girl.”
