Now it seems Wuebben’s job at the restaurant will soon be over as after hearing of his heroic story at least one local hospital and a fire department have called to offer him a job in his chosen field
Who would've thought that ordering a pizza could save life. But this came true for a Denver man who had a heart attack on Friday.
Chris Wuebben, a pizza deliveryman from Johnny's New York Pizza in Lakewood became a hero on Friday night when he saved the life of George Linn, who went into cardiac arrest just at the time the delivery boy knocked on the door of their Colorado home to deliever their order.
Pizza order saved Linn's life
Wuebben, 22, who happened to be a paramedic, recently returned from Iraq, was knocking at the door of the suburban Denver home of George Linn to deliver a pizza late Friday, when he heard a woman screaming for help, according to Reuter’s report, citing Wuebben's boss, John Keiley.
"Chris told the woman that he was trained in CPR and knew what to do," Keiley, owner of Johnny's New York Pizza, said on Tuesday. "He got him on the floor and brought him back to life before the fire department showed up."
Kami said she had just dialed 911 when the deliveryman knocked on the door to deliver their order. He performed CPR on George until the ambulance arrived.
Pizza guy turns hero
Kami Linn, the wife of George, now credits Wuebben with saving her hubby who had a heart attack.
"The pizza guy saved his life," she said. "Every doctor and nurse has told me that."
It all happened on Friday night when the Linn family called for pizza, but nearly an hour later George collapsed, according to a report by 7News.
"We are just talking and all of a sudden George said, 'Oh no,' grabs his neck and collapses onto the floor," the publication quoted Kami as saying.
Wuebben performed CPR before paramedics arrived
Kami said she had just dialed 911 when the deliveryman knocked on the door to deliver their order. He performed CPR on George until the ambulance arrived.
"I don't know why, but I open the door [to] some burly-looking dude and I was like, 'Help me, come help me,'" she said. "I didn't care if it was a scrawny teenager. I am like, 'Get in here,' and [the pizza guy] is like, 'I am a paramedic.'"
"He runs in and immediately does CPR on George who has gone into cardiac arrest and has died," said Kami. "He revived him and got him to breathe again."
"By the time he had him revived the other paramedics came and took over and said if is wasn't for the pizza guy, who I found out later was Chris, George would have died," she said.

"This only happens in movies. I don't know whatever you want to believe, but I know that things are going to be ok because that never happens," WHAS11.com quoted her as saying.
George was rushed to Swedish Medical Center where he is in intensive care unit with serious condition, hospital spokeswoman Julie Lonborg told Reuters.
According to Kami, George has a history of heart problems and was hospitalized last week. He was released on Wednesday.
Johnny's New York Pizza owner Keiley said Wuebben is a military veteran who recently moved to Colorado after he was laid off from his paramedic job in Illinois. Previously, he was an Emergency Medical Technician in the military.
May get paramedic job
Wuebben recently took the job at Johnny's New York Pizza in Lakewood to deliver pizzas until he found a job as a paramedic, said the pizza outlet owner Kailey.
Now it seems Wuebben’s job at the restaurant will soon be over as after hearing of his heroic story at least one local hospital and a fire department have called to offer him a job in his chosen field.
"He's a good kid who was very nonchalant about what he did and hopefully this will work out for him," Keiley said.
