Headline-making British pop star George Michael hits the headlines again- this time for crashing his car into a shop on the night of a gay festival, and subsequently heading himself to a slammer.

This is for the seventh time, the former pop star was arrested for a driving-related incident, BBC News reports.

Yet another arrest for Michael
George Michael was arrested in London on Sunday after police received reports that the former Wham! Singer has crashed his Range Rover into a Snappy Snaps shop in Hampstead, London following his attendance at London’s gay pride parade, the publication reports.

According to a report by Sky News, police arrested Michael after viewing closed-circuit TV footage of his car jumping a curb and smashing into the shop around 3:30 a.m.

The former pop star, an admitted heavy marijuana smoker, was taken to a north London police station, where he was bailed to return in mid-August pending further inquiries.

Singer due back in court
The former pop star, an admitted heavy marijuana smoker, was taken to a north London police station, where he was bailed to return in mid-August pending further inquiries.

"Police were called at approximately 3:35am on Sunday 4 July to reports of a vehicle in collision with a building on Hampstead High Street,” FOX News quoted a Metropolitan Police spokesman as saying on Tuesday.

"Officers attended and a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive. He was taken to a north London police station and later bailed pending further inquiries. He will appear in court in August,” the spokeman said.

According to the publication, the Hampstead store’s manager, Jun Mustafa, said: “You’re looking at a new shop front definitely -- it was quite badly damaged.”

Michael’s other brush with the law
As mentioned above, this is not the first time Michael was arrested for driving related wrong, instead the singer, who became famous as part of the band Wham! before launching a successful solo career, has a history of unfit driving cases.

The singer was banned from driving for two years in 2007 on charges of driving while unfit due to drugs, and was sentenced to 100 hours of community service after admitting offence.

In that case he was accused of driving into three parked cars and driving off without first telling the cars’ owners.

Michael was arrested back in Feb. 2006 after witnesses reported a car obstructing the road. Police found the singer slumped over the wheel of his car and a subsequent search turned up controlled substances.

The "Faith" singer was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in Berkshire, southeast England in August 2009. However he was later released without charge.

His most famous brush with the law came in 1998 when he engaged “in a lewd act” with an undercover police officer in a toilet in Los Angeles, which eventually led to his arrest.
