Lady Gaga reigns on Facebook, acquires 10 million fans

Gaga recently topped a list of newcomers to Forbes magazine’s list of the 100 most powerful celebrities, entering in 4th place with estimated earnings over the past 12 months of $62 million

Lady Gaga is the queen of Facebook! The wild-styled singer is now more liked than President Obama, celebrating 10 million fans on the social networking site, according to the British social-network statistics site FameCount.com.

In April Time magazine named Gaga the most influential artist in the world, now a British group that measures online popularity says the "Alejandro" singer is on the verge of becoming the first living person to roll up 10 million Facebook fans.

Gaga surpasses US President
According to British website Famecount, Gaga overtook US President Barack Obama as the most popular living person on Facebook on June 25.

The statistics show that the 24-year-old performer's fan count reached 9,940,462, which surpassed the count for the US president, who has 9,444,942 Facebook fans.

According to USA Today, there are only five entities, none of them living people, that are more popular than Lady Gaga on Facebook, including the late pop icon Michael Jackson (14.39 million), Texas Hold 'em Poke (20 million), the “Family Guy” TV show (10.3 million), the game Mafia Wars (12.78 million) and Facebook (10.97 million) itself.

"Any moment, Lady Gaga is set to become the first living person to achieve 10m (million) fans on Facebook or, indeed, on any single social network," Famecount.com said on its website, reports ABC News.

Only non-living entites are ahead of Gaga
According to USA Today, there are only five entities, none of them living people, that are more popular than Lady Gaga on Facebook, including the late pop icon Michael Jackson (14.39 million), Texas Hold 'em Poke (20 million), the “Family Guy” TV show (10.3 million), the game Mafia Wars (12.78 million) and Facebook (10.97 million) itself.

After hitting the 10 million mark, the “Poker Face” singer posted a special Facebook video to fans, saying: “I love you guys so much.”

Gaga reigns on other sites too
Not only on Facebook, the provocative "Bad Romance" and "Paparazzi" singer has surpassed Obama on Twitter and Youtube sites.

As of Friday, Gaga had 4,762,938 Twitter followers, and 311,716 YouTube subscribers, compared to Obama’s 4,422,923 Facebook and 191,562 YouTube subscribers.

Confesses insecurity
According to UsMagazine, Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, confessed in the latest of Rolling Stone that she feels as insecure as any other young girl.

"When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say, '... you're Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today,'"m the singer said.
