The couple quickly separated after James, a motorcycle maker and reality TV star, was publicly linked to at least four other women earlier this year.
Sandra Bullock and Jesse James are no more a couple. After months of tabloid fodder and a very public split, the pair has finally divorced.
Several tabloid and entertainment magazine reports emerged in March claiming that the former host of TLC's Monster Garage James was romantically involved with tattoo artist Michelle "Bombshell" McGee.
After the exposure of his infidelity to Bullock, James made several public apologies and tried hard to win back his wife. However, the 45-year-old Oscar-winning actress was adamant on divorcing him.
It's officially over for Bullock and James
Bullock and James filed sealed papers last week in Travis County Court in Austin, where Bullock already has a house, to finalize their divorce after their nearly five-year marriage deteriorated amid reports of infidelity by 41-year-old reality TV star James, reports People.com.
A report by celebrity gossip website TMZ.com says that Bullock filed for divorce back on April 23, saying the marriage "has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities."

Marriage crumbled, new son appears
The couple quickly separated after James, a motorcycle maker and reality TV star, had been publicly linked to at least four other women earlier this year.

Soon after splitting from James, Bullock revealed that she had adopted a baby boy, for whom she is now caring.
The divorce petition did not refer to her adopted son, Louis Bardo Bullock, an infant born in New Orleans in January.
On James and adopted son
According to MTV, back in April Bullock spoke to celebrity magazine about her split from James, saying she was now focused on raising her son and that her relationship with her future ex-husband is "a different one. A bittersweet one. One of new understanding. One of support for his recovery. One that changed my life."
Although she wants to raise Louis as a single parent, Bullock said she hopes that he can still have a great dad like she's seen James be to his own three kids, according to MTV. "I really don't know how our paths will intersect in the future," she said.
The Bullock-James divorce comes hot on the heels of several high-profile appearances by Bullock. The actress largely shied from the spotlight until she appeared at Spike's Guys Choice Awards, the MTV Movie Awards, where she received the MTV Generation Award -- the show's highest honor, and just last week at the star-studded Nashville Rising benefit show.
The split also came just 10 days after she won the best actress Oscar for her role in the blockbuster "The Blind Side."
Sandra and James’ life together in the past
Sandra Bullock married the heavily tattooed celebrity motorcycle builder in 2005. It was the first marriage for the actress and the third for Jesse, who was previously married to Karla James from 1991 to 2002; they have a daughter, Chandler, and son, Jesse Jr.
He was also married to adult-film star Janine Lindemulder, to whom he was married from 2002 to 2004. They have a daughter, Sunny.
Bullock has no children of her own. She had fully supported her husband at the time he was in midst of his custody battle with Lindemulder over his younger daughter.
