iPhone 4 recall news based on fake Steve Jobs tweet

"I would strongly suggest that Steve Jobs employs left-handers in his design and testing team in future, and urgently address this issue to ensure the phone is fit for purpose," Telegraph quote Lauren Milsom, who runs the Left-Handers Club.

British newspaper The Daily Mail, having one of the most popular news sites in the UK, reported Sunday on its site that Apple CEO Steve Jobs in his Twitter posting has revealed that iPhone 4 might be “recalled.”

"We may have to recall the new iPhone. This, I did not expect," read Steve Jobs’ Twitter message that Daily Mail quoted in its report titled “Apple boss Steve Jobs reveals iPhone 4 may be recalled.”

As per the article, recall has something to do with supposed signal and antenna problem that have offended the left-handed people in particular. Later in the day Daily Mail removed the article from the site.

However, market experts believe that Daily Mail should have reported little more carefully before running the article, as it is clear from the tweets posted on account @ceoSteveJobs (a tweet from the same account was the basis of Daily Mail’s article) that it does not belong to Apple’s CEO.

"Be careful not to leave your #iPhone4 at the Genius Bar on the way out of the store. Gizmodo might pick it up “and” I heard the CEO of AT&T got married recently. The service was great but the reception was terrible," read another one of the postings on the parody account.

Apple was unavailable to comment on this new development.

Apple discriminating towards left-handed people?
The Daily Mail also seems to have picked up reason for its iPhone 4 recall news from The Telegraph, another paper that ran the story on Saturday in which it reported that the Left-Handers Club (with 90,000 members) had accused Apple of being discriminating towards them.

As per the article, recall has something to do with supposed signal and antenna problem that have offended the left-handed people in particular. Later in the day, Daily Mail removed the article from the site.

"I would strongly suggest that Steve Jobs employs left-handers in his design and testing team in future, and urgently address this issue to ensure the phone is fit for purpose," Telegraph quote Lauren Milsom, who runs the Left-Handers Club.

Milsom added that device is ideally designed for right-handers and causes reception problems if handled by a left-hander.

"Clearly more testing is needed to be certain this is the case, but if so, left-handed potential customers need to be warned that the phone will not work for them, until it can be redesigned to remedy the fault,'' said Milsom.

Apple iPhone’s left problems
Left-Handers club might think that Apple have a discriminating attitude towards them, but Apple on Friday advised iPhone 4 users not to grip the device from the bottom-left corner as it might result in reception problems.

However, Apple’s Jobs said in an emailed message to one of the users that iPhone 4 does not have any reception issues as reported by many.

"There is no reception issue. Stay tuned," read Jobs emailed message.
