The four-hour concert saw star after star singing in admiration of Nashville and pouring out love for its people, who recently braved a highly destructive natural disaster.
Faith Hill and her husband Tim McGraw had organize this charity concert at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena with the aim of raising $2 million for The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
“Nashville will rise and that is why we have come together tonight,” said Hill. “Musicians, football players, coaches, our elected officials, you in the audience, yes, we are all the same. We're just neighbors who care and friends who want to make a difference.”
Recovering after the harsh calamity
The sell-out crowd of more than 15,000 people encouraged the stars with loud cheers, as they echoed the sentiment of recovering from the catastrophe that recently hit the region.
“Government, we don't need you — we can take care of our own,” said singer Michael W. Smith.
Record rains across Tennessee in the beginning of May, incited heavy floods across the region that killed 22 people and caused massive damage throughout.
Thousands were left stranded on the roads after the floods tore down their houses, along with several major landmarks of the city. Destruction of about $2 billion was reported in Nashville's Davidson County alone.
“It happened to our friends, our neighbors, our loved ones and our homes,” said Hill. “Everyone here knows someone affected by the flood.”

Bullock silenced the audience as she slowly picked out the opening notes to ‘Smoke On the Water.’
"OK, who am I kidding?" snapped Bullock after a little awkward music. “I can't play for crap!”
Hill immediately entered saying, "That's good stuff isn't it?"
“Sign that girl right away,” she joked.
“They say a community is only as strong as its weakest link, right? From the look of it, there are no weak links in this community,” said Bullock, who received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Besides these live performances, the audience also received support from Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey and Dolly Parton, who could not make it in person, but sent out taped video messages for Nashville.
