Family plans event in remembrance of Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson's charisma continues to live even a year after his death. In remembrance of the 'King of Pop,' his people will organize an event in Los Angeles later this month.

According to PEOPLE, the Jackson Family Foundation will present 'Forever Michael,' a red carpet celebration event at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on June 26. The event will feature several performances in honor of the great singer.

By organizing this event, they hope to bring together all the people who loved Michael.

"The vision is to bring together Michael Jackson family members, celebrities, fans, supporters and the community to celebrate and honor his legacy," says Voice Plate Productions, the company behind this event.

Fans can visit Michael’s burial site
Meanwhile, endeavoring to let Jackson’s fans keep a connection with him, his brother Randy is trying to get permission for his fans to visit the late singer’s grave on his death anniversary and after that.

Randy has reached an agreement with bosses at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale in California to allow fans to pay tributes at the singer's burial site.

Michael Jackson died under vague circumstances on June 25, 2009, triggering a global outpour of grief. Drug overdose was believed to be the reason of death of the 50-year-old singer.

Jackson was buried on Sept. 3, 2009, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, which is also the resting place of many other famous personalities of the entertainment industry.

Trying to 'celebrate his incredible life'
Initially, the owners were reluctant in allowing Jackson’s fans to visit the site as they thought it would upset the families of other stars buried there. But with assistance from Jackson’s family, Randy managed to convince them to let his fans visit the place.

"I just had a meeting with Forest Lawn and, beginning on June 25 - the anniversary of my brother's death, fans will be able to go right up to the mausoleum and drop off flowers and pay their respects,” said Randy. “Michael loved his fans, and the family wants to make sure that the fans are able to celebrate his incredible life.”

Janet, Michael's three kids, family matriarch Katherine and the singer’s ex-wife Lisa Marie Presleym will also visit the cemetery on his death anniversary, revealed Randy.
