Charlie Sheen leaving ‘Two and a Half Men’?

Charlie Sheen is reportedly seeking $1.5 million to $2 million for each episode of 'Two and a Half Men.'

Charlie Sheen is expected to quit TV's top-rated comedy ‘Two and a Half Men’. Reportedly, the actor wants to leave the hit CBS series because he is discontented with the money being offered.

“Charlie’s just done,” a set source told People magazine. “And he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back.”

The show had a successful run for seven seasons, but Sheen has reportedly refused to return for the eighth season. “Charlie’s deal is only through this current season,” his rep, Stan Rosenfield, told People.

Although people at the network were hoping Sheen would renew his contract, he decided to call it off.

The actor rakes in $825,000 per episode of Two and a Half Men’ and has been offered more for the next season.

However, Sheen’s departure from the show could not be confirmed as CBS refused to comment on the report and it also found some contradiction.

Will he leave the million dollar paycheck?
Celebrity gossip Web site TMZ.com refused to buy the idea of Charlie Sheen exiting ‘Two and a Half Men.’ “Sources directly connected” to the show, were laughing at the report, it said. The amusement of these sources apparently stems from the knowledge of the fat paycheck that Sheen receives for every half-hour episode.

The actor reportedly rakes in $825,000 per episode of 'Two and a Half Men’ and has been offered more for the next season. Who would want to let go of such a meaty role?

TMZ.com is owned and operated by Warner Bros., which is also the producer of the popular CBS series.

Sheen’s current contract will terminate after taping of the 22nd episode of this season on Apr. 9. According to TMZ, the star has been offered $ 1 million per episode in a fresh contract.

However, Sheen turned down that offer as he is reportedly seeking $1.5 million to $2 million for each episode of the show.

“He wants to move on,” said a friend of Charlie Sheen. “Leaving is 100 percent his idea.”

Bothered by personal troubles
Sheen’s decision to leave the hit show could also be influenced by the legal and personal troubles he is currently facing.

Sheen pled not guilty to charges of domestic violence, after a Christmas Day fight with wife Brooke Mueller. On Feb. 24 he entered rehab, and has since been going there each night after work.

Sheen’s trial in court will begin Jul 21.
