Stephenie Meyer to release new book; 'The Host' to be filmed soon

For people who have adored Meyer's previous series, ‘The Twilight Saga,’ the new release is like an icing on the cake. Meyer is also trying her luck to get her first published novel ‘The Host,’ to be filmed soon.

Author Stephenie Meyer will soon be releasing her new book. Named ‘The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner,’ the book is about a newborn vampire Bree (from her book ‘Eclipse’) and is expected to be out on June 5 this year.

Meyer, author of the recent popular series ‘The Twilight Saga,’ said originally the story of her upcoming novel was scheduled to be included in ‘The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide.’

However, since that did not happen, Meyer released it in the form of a brand new book altogether.

Meyer’s book supports a cause
Publishers of the new book, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, will be donating $1 for the first 1.5 million copies sold in the U.S. The amount is to be given to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which assists disaster relief efforts like Haiti and Chile.

“About 90 percent of the fandom is just excited to have anything,” said Lori Joffs, co-creator of Twilight Lexicon.

MTV News reported on Thursday that Meyer is also trying to get her first published novel ‘The Host’ to be filmed.

“It's the small little bit of about 10 percent of fans who are interested in another story. The story that must not be named,” Joffs added.

’The Host’ to be filmed
Not only this, MTV reported on Thursday that Meyer is also trying to get her first published novel ‘The Host,’ to be filmed soon.

With a story suggestive of ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers,’ Meyer’s novel is about aliens controlling the human population.

Meyer has already roped in the producer and director, and the film is considered to be in its early stages of production.

Steve Schwartz, who will act as producer, talked of the project and about his director Andrew Niccol.

He said, “We spent time with Andrew. Listened to his vision, introduced Andrew to Stephenie and she responded. There is very good chemistry in this group. Stephenie is a very smart collaborator, and she had an intuitive strong hunch he would be the right guy. Based on the script we've seen, we think she was right.”
