While on the red carpet, Miley Cyrus said the biggest challenge for her was to walk alongside her towering boyfriend in those sky-scrapping heels.
Miley Cyrus knew from the very beginning that Liam Hemsworth is the guy for her. After meeting him first for a coffee-date at Starbucks, Cyrus was quite impressed and knew they would hit it off well.
The Disney star had first met the 20-year-old Aussie as her ‘Last Song’ costar and she reveals she was quite nervous on seeing this very-tall, handsome guy. Standing 5-foot-5 herself, Cyrus thought she’d have a difficult time fitting in the frame with the 6-foot-5 tall Hemsworth.
“I thought I might have to stand on apple boxes to film! But he opened a door for me, and I thought it was very sweet. So I just told them, 'He's got the part!'” she told the US Weekly.
Cyrus sold on first date
Chatting with Jay Leno on ‘The Tonight Show’, Cyrus said, “I met him two weeks before filming. We went on a Starbucks date. That's what you do when you meet your co-star that you have to be kissing for months and months and months, and I was sold.”
The challenge was in “knowing that beauty is pain and wearing the highest heels possible!" she joked.
Cyrus, 17, says that everything became easy after that first coffee-date. The couple was supposed to kiss on the first day of filming the movie and knowing her co-star before getting intimate with him, helped make it all very comfortable for the teen-star, who has gladly moved past her ‘Hannah Montana’ days.
The first kiss
"[Our first kiss] was on the first day of filming in the movie," said Cyrus. "We have this scene where we frolic in the water. So I frolic very well apparently, and after that I got to keep him."
And while filming the scene, Miley Cyrus was totally into it. "When the director starts going 'kiss her, kiss her!' I like jumped," she said while talking to Jay Leno.
"I'm like, I love this. I can do this for three more months, for sure."
Fun while filming
Cyrus and Hemsworth have been dating for ten months now. The couple stepped out on the red carpet on Thursday at the Los Angeles premiere of their upcoming flick ‘The Last Song.’
Filming the movie was fun for the young stars. "We had a lot of fun! It was pretty much jokes every day!" said Hemsworth.
