Ryan Murphy’s ‘Eat, Pray, Love,’ which stars Julia Roberts in the main lead, is all set to hit theaters this August. The much talked about movie about a divorcee traveling to Italy, India, and Indonesia is based on a memoir by author Elizabeth Gilbert.
The book, as described by the New York Times, is “fueled by a mix of intelligence, wit and colloquial exuberance that is close to irresistible.”
Even though it “drags” in the middle, it resolves “the awkward, unresolved stuff she must have chosen to leave out.” The author omits the “confusion and unfinished business of real life and that we know how the story ends pretty much from the beginning.”
The story
A true chronicle of her life, Gilbert’s ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ follows the story of Gilbert herself.
The author, who is desperately trying to save her failed marriage after losing hope of becoming pregnant, has a successful career as a writer.
However, she wants to find something more in life. So, after divorcing her husband, Gilbert enters into a relationship with another man, which does not work out. It is then that she calls for a change.
