Good news for fans of Parks and Recreation. Poehler's pregnancy will not stop the show, which has been renewed for a third season, her rep said.
'Parks and Recreation' comedienne Amy Poehler, and Will Arnett of the FOX comedy 'Arrested Development' are expecting their second child together, a rep confirmed exclusively to UsMagazine.com.
Although no due date has been released officially, but some tabloids are reporting that the couple is expecting their baby at any moment.
Poehler, 38, and Will Arnet, 39, have been married since August 2003, and they already have a 16-month-old son named Archie together. The former ‘Saturday Night Live’ cast member delivered their first child in October 2008.
Baby number two for Amy and Arnett
Hollywood funny couple, who worked together on Arnett's sitcom ‘Arrested Development’, as well as 2007's figure-skating comedy ‘Blades of Glory’, is now adding more diapers and drool with the announcement that they’re expecting their second child.
A representative for Poehler, the star of NBC's ‘Parks and Recreation’ confirmed the news to Us, but did not reveal a due date or the new baby’s gender.
Funny couple take parenthood seriously
Poehler and Arnett are known as the funniest married folks around, but they take parenthood a bit more seriously.
A representative for Poehler, the star of NBC's ‘Parks and Recreation’ confirmed the news to Us, but did not reveal a due date or the new baby’s gender
"As sort of clichéd as it sounds, it's just the best,” msnbc.com quoted the former "Arrested Development" star Arnett as saying. "Because it's a human being that you're responsible for ... that's scary, but even in its scariest moments it's fantastic."
"Any working mother will tell you it's a day-to-day thing," Poehler told TV Guide last November about maintaining the balance between work and motherhood, according to Us. "You just do your best and try to make it work."
The comic star also said that she and her close friend and fellow Saturday Night Live alum, Tina Fey, frequently discuss life as Hollywood moms. "We [talk] a lot about how we're both working long hours with kids. Our emails and texts are mostly about formula and nannies."
‘Parks and Recreation’ renewed for third season
Good news for fans of ‘Parks and Recreation’. Poehler's pregnancy will not stop the show, which has been renewed for a third season, her rep said. The early season three pickup was molded around the actress’ pregnancy.
"It will not affect the show," E!Online quoted a source as saying. "They will take a short break and then resume production."
Also an NBC rep told E!, "We'll continue production of season three as soon as production of season two concludes. And we'll be back next season with new episodes."
A little about Poehler
Born Amy Meredith Poehler on September 16, 1971, Poehler is an American comedienne and actress whose sketch comedy talents took her from ‘Saturday Night Live’ to feature films like ‘Baby Mama’ (2008).
Poehler’s big mainstream breakthrough came in January 2002, when she was promoted from featured player to member of the repertory cast of ‘Saturday Night Live’. She became a regular cast member within the first year, and by 2004 she was one of the show's main performers, co-hosting the ‘Weekend Update’ segment with Tina Fey.
Poehler has appeared in films such as ‘Wet Hot American Summer’, ‘Mean Girls’, ‘Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo’, ‘Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny’, ‘Blades of Glory’, ‘Envy’, ‘Shrek The Third’, and ‘Mr. Woodcock’.
In 2008, Poehler appeared in ‘Horton Hears a Who!’, and ‘Baby Mama’, and will star in ‘Spring Breakdown’, and ‘Hamlet 2’. She has also co-created an animated series for Nickelodeon, titled ‘The Mighty B!’, which is about a sweet, merit-badge-obsessed girl scout, Bessie Higgenbottom, to which she lends her vocal talents.
Poehler also graced the cover of the April 20, 2008 issue of Page Six Magazine.
She is married to Will Arnett, of the FOX comedy ‘Arrested Development’, and had recurring roles in the series as the nameless wife of Arnett's character George Oscar G.O.B Bluth II. The couple also played a quasi-incestuous brother-sister ice skating team in the 2007 film ‘Blades of Glory’. They live in New York City.
