Haim had emerged as a teen heartthrob after his movie Lucas, released in 1986, though Lost Boys was his best performance ever.
Lost Boys star Corey haim died at the age of 38 on Wednesday morning at the St. Joseph Medical Center, the Coroner’s office confirmed.
Haim had been down with flu-like symptoms besides being upset throughout Monday morning and was brought to the hospital by his mom, Ed Winter, associate head of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s workplace said.
The actor is suspected to have died of a medicine overdose though no details of his death have been disclosed yet.
“He could have succumbed to whatever (illness) he had or it could have been drugs,” police Sgt. Michael Kammert said. “He has had a drug problem in the past.”
There was no evidence of foul play, Kammert revealed. A post mortem would be soon conducted to ascertain the cause of his demise.
Haim, born on Dec. 23, 1971 would be laid to rest in Toronto, near his family, said his mother Judy Haim.
