Google Apps Marketplace suite has been designed to work in integration with Google Apps such as Google Gmail, documents, sites, and calendar.
The Internet search giant, Google, has introduced Google Apps Marketplace with 50 software applications available by third party vendors.
Google Apps Marketplace is an online store for outside companies to sell their applications, which work together with Google Apps to avoid hassles while using it.
Increasing demand for more applications led to introduction of these cloud based applications.
Google’s online store
Through this market place, the users will easily be able to buy the online office software. The prices of these applications start from $50 to several hundred dollars annually per user.
Since five years, Google has been offering online applications. Presently, Google has 25 million users and two million businesses, government agencies, and schools using applications like Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Docs.
Google Apps Marketplace suite has been designed to work in integration with Google Apps such as Google Gmail, documents, sites, and calendar.
It is a business to business open market place where Google initially charges $100 fee for basic screening process. Google primarily aims at providing its customers the best applications.
The search giant has planned to give 80 percent of the revenue from Google Apps Market sales to the third party vendors and retain 20 percent of the revenue for itself.
Some of the vendors
It is a great opportunity for the vendors to execute their applications and access two million business users.
Marketbright is one of the vendors that provide various marketing tools. Dom Lindars, chief executive officer of Marketbright, told CNNMoney.com, “Offering the Marketbright agile marketing automation solution on the Google Apps Marketplace was a logical step, since Marketbright was conceived and created as an on-demand application meant to work with a company's collaboration and communication tools. Zoho, a division of Zoho Corp., provides two applications, Zoho CRM (maintaining customer relationship), and Zoho Projects (collaboration and management of Projects).
Raju Vegesna, Zoho evangelist, told PYMNTS.com “Zoho’s Business Apps complement Google Apps. We previously integrated our apps at the log-in level with single sign-on. Now, we take our integrations deeper, thanks to the enhanced APIs for Google Apps.”
Intuit Inc. is the online payroll software available for small business owners.
Besides these, other software applications are Aviary, Batchbook, Bookfresh, Expensify, OfficeSync, Shoeboxed.com, and SuccessFactors.
Google has made the competition tougher for its rivals like Microsoft.
