Apple is leaving no stone unturned to promote is forthcoming tablet computer iPad. Though the device is yet not out in the market, the company has already kick started a campaign.
Apple’s Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs had earlier used the Grammy’s platform to advertise its upcoming device.
Now it chose the star-studded Oscars to publize iPad slate, which is scheduled for launch on April 3 across the nation.
About the iPad ad
While Jobs attended the 82 Annual Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre, the company aired the first commercial of the device on ABC’s television network on Sunday night.
Apple kept the advertisement very simple. It did not hire a high profile celebrity to tout about the products features.
In fact, the 30 second slot showed the 9.7-inch touchscreen tablet on someone’s lap and being used for a range of activities like surfing Internet, downloading e-books from the new iBook Store, accessing map application etc.
The music ‘There Goes My Love’ by Danish band The Blue Van played in the background.
In case you missed the commercial, the ad can be viewed on YouTube.
