'The Bachelor' Jason Mesnick weds Molly Malaney

The wedding was beautifully organized at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

'The Bachelor' star Jason Mesnick has gotten married to former contestant Molly Malaney. Following a tumultuous run on the show, Mesnick, 33, and Malaney, 25, finally tied the holy knot in a beautiful ceremony attended by some 300 guests, on Saturday.

“This is the happiest day of our lives,” said the newly-weds.

Other people of the Bachelor and Bachelorette fame, Jillian Harris and fiancé Ed Swiderski, Trista and Ryan Sutter, DeAnna Pappa, Jesse Csinak, and Kiptyn Locke, were also seated among the guests. They had a sense of identification with Mesnick and Malaney.

“We’re really excited for them,” Jillian Harris told PEOPLE. “They are very ‘normal’ in one sense, but on the other hand both of us have been through things in terms of the tabloids and drama after our shows were over.”

Harris, who had been among the contenders of Mesnick’s affection on 'The Bachelor', added, “We’re so sympathetic to each other’s relationships that we’re huge supporters of each other.”

Well organized wedding
The wedding was beautifully organized at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Though the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile called for a tsunami warning, the celebrations ran rather smoothly at the resort’s Palos Verdes Meadows Lawn bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Antique butterfly cages, white orchids and pieces of driftwood made for a lovely décor for the wedding.

The rainy skies overhead added further to the whole ambience as Malaney walked down a 200-ft. aisle, looking gorgeous in a $45,000 Monique Lhuillier gown and Neil Lane jewelry.

American Idol’s Jason Castro sang ‘Over the rainbow’ as the beautiful bride approached Mesnick, standing there in a dark suit with a black tie.

As they wrapped up the 15 minute ceremony, white doves were released into the drizzly skies. The ceremony was followed by an indoor ballroom reception.

Currently putting up in Seattle, the couple is reportedly planning a Caribbean honeymoon.

Confusion and controversies
Mesnick and Malaney exchanged engagement rings in New Zealand last October, following a controversial finale of ‘The Bachelor’ last year, when Malaney was asked to leave while Mesnick proposed to another finalist, Melissa Rycroft.

Later, somehow he realized that he wanted to be with Malaney and dumped Rycroft on the ‘After the Final Rose’ special.

While Mesnick and Malaney nurtured their relationship, Rycroft married her longtime boyfriend Tye Strickland in December.

The nuptials will be aired on ABC on Mar 8th in a in a two-hour TV special: ‘The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding’.
