Boyfriend arranges surprise birthday party for Rihanna

Rihanna seems to have completely gotten over the turmoil in her personal life and is thoroughly enjoying the attention showered on her by the baseball player.

Only expecting to be with a few selected friends over her birthday, Rihanna was apparently “shocked” by Kemp’s gesture.

Well-planned surprise
Despite planning a grand celebration for Rihanna’s 22nd birthday for over a month, Kemp ensured his girlfriend got no hint of what was in store for her. He kept all arrangements under wraps and finally when he unveiled them to Rihanna on her big day, the lady was overwhelmed.

From flowers to Sprinkles cupcakes to tiki torches in the pool, Kemp had arranged it all. There were even engraved bottles of Ace of Spades and Johnny Walker Blue and a Jamaican chef who prepared great appetizers for the crowd. Kemp had specially planned Caribbean food to be served to the Barbados-born Rihanna.

Reportedly, some 40 people were present at the party; the guests included friends of Rihanna and some baseball buddies of Kemp.

The birthday cake was also special; it was adorned with various tattoos of Rihanna, and Kemp brought it out while everyone sang out their birthday wishes for the singer.

And that was not all. Kemp also bought a custom-made diamond necklace for Rihanna.

"It was so sweet and she was really surprised,” said a source. “She looked just beautiful."

No ‘Rude Boy’ now
Last year, Rihanna had to call off the plans for her 21st birthday due to a hideous molestation incident that involved the singer’s then-boyfriend Chris Brown, in Feb. 2009. Things look radically different for the ‘rude boy’ singer this time.

“Matt really wanted to do something nice for Rihanna this year since she didn't have much of a 21st birthday last year. It was just her closest friends, good Jamaican food, a photo booth, dancing and a nice cake,” a source reportedly told 'E! Online'.

Rihanna was first linked up to Matt Kemp, after they were spotted holidaying together in Mexico in January, but the rumored couple hasn’t yet accepted the relationship openly.

"Rihanna is just a friend, a good friend of mine,” said the 25-year-old, when questioned about his Mexico trip with the singer. “We went down to Mexico and had fun together."

However, the intimacy is becoming apparent to the world.
