Angelina reunites with dad Voight after 9 years

Negating all rumors of a split, Hollywood’s hottest couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is holidaying with their brood in Venice, Italy. And reportedly, the family was spotted hanging out with Jolie’s estranged father, Jon Voight.
The father-daughter duo has not been on talking terms for the last nine years.
It is being said that husband Brad Pitt has been the unifying force between the separated father and daughter.
A source said, “Since (Pitt and Jolie) have been together, Brad has been encouraging Angie to smooth things over with her dad. And when it comes to the kids, Brad wants them to know their grandfather the way the kids know his parents.”
“Angie made the initial contact and Brad has been supportive, a key factor in her reaching out,” added the friend.
Angelina reunites with Voight publicly
Angelina Jolie is in Venice to shoot for her forthcoming flick ‘The Tourist’ opposite Johnny Depp, and her brood accompanied her.
Jolie was spotted with her Oscar winning father Voight while on a boat trip in the famous Grand Canal.
The father-daughter split
The duo has not been talking to each other since 2001 when Angelina adopted son Maddox and he voiced his concerns on her mental health.
The Tomb raider star Jolie said shortly afterwards in an interview in 2002, “My father and I don't speak. I don't hold any anger toward him. I don't believe that somebody's family becomes their blood. Because my son's adopted, and families are earned.”
And in June 2007, Angelina reported to the media, “At the end of the day, we both wish the best for each other and we'll try to start communicating in some way.”
The grapevine has it that Jon had made several attempts to stabilize his lost relationship with daughter Angelina, and in 2009, he revealed that things were coming back to normal between them.
Now it seems that Angelina is comfortable in acknowledging her relationship with Voight and this was apparent when she was spotted with him in the open in Venice.
Voight negates Brangelina split rumors
Jon Voight has also come forward against the split rumors of Brad and Angelina and says, “The rumors are a pain in the neck. It's like listening to static half of your day. Nonsense. It’s all made up stuff.”
The couple is happily married and has refrained from making any comments on their relationship status to the media.
