Singer/actress Hilary Duff and her longtime hockey player beau, Mike Comrie, are engaged, a rep for the songtress confirms to People.com. However, there's no word yet on a wedding date, but the pair is expected to hear wedding bells soon.
The 22-year-old actress Hilary Duff and 29-year-old Edmonton Oilers star player Mike Comrie got engaged Thursday night after dating for two years.
The NHL is on a two-week break for the Olympics.
Duff, Comrie engaged!
Comrie surprised her longtime sweetheart once again, and this time with a wedding proposal. The NHL star previously stunned Duff when he bought Duff a Mercedes-Benz for her 20th birthday.
On Thursday night while vacationing in Maui, Comrie asked Duff for her hand in marriage, and the actress happily agreed.
"Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie were engaged this weekend while vacationing in Hawaii," rep Nanci Ryder confirmed to People Friday. "After having been together for over two years, they are very excited to share this happy news. They are thankful for all of your warm wishes."
Duff’s engagement to Comrie, a former player for the New York Islanders, comes only six days after her ex Joel Madden announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Nicole Richie.

According to MTV, Duff recently told UsMagazine.com: "[Comrie's] a great guy. I've never met anyone who could say a bad word about him. He's generous, caring, funny. We just laugh our heads off, which I need in my life. ... He's unique. I wouldn't want to be with someone who wasn't unique."
"We both have busy jobs and we're both very focused people, so that helps," she told the magazine. "Since we are apart so much, it's not like one person is at home waiting for the other."
Comrie told Us: "We have fun. We both live such different lives, but it's always fun to support each other and spend time when we get to."

Born on 28 Sept. 1987 in Houston, Texas, Hilary Duff’s acting and singing career blasted off in 2003, with appearances in feature films, including ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ (2003), ‘The Lizzie McGuire Movie’ (2003), and ‘A Cinderella Story’ (2004).

Before meeting NHL player Mike Comrie, Duff dated singer Aaron Carter. They began dating in 2001 after meeting on the sets of ‘Lizzie McGuire’. Their relationship lasted two years.
Duff then dated Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden. They began dating in 2004 but broke up in November 2006.
