In a related news, it has been reported by a British tabloid that Hollywood beauty has bought an olive tree for her partner Brad as Valentine's Day gift.
Reports are rife once again that Angelina Jolie is planning to adopt another child--this time reportedly an orphan from Haiti. But, the Hollywood actress neither confirmed nor flatly denied the adoption rumors.
Jolie, the goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for the Refugees state, visited Haiti this week, and some media outlets are associating her visit to the Caribbean island with her plans of giving a child left orphaned by the last month’s devastating natural disaster in the country a home.
Adoption rumors
While some tabloids are reporting that Jolie’s recent trip to the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince has indicated that she may adopt a child from the earthquake-stricken country, the other say her visit was part of a United Nations’ humanitarian mission.
According to a report from Miami Herald, the 34-year-old actress visited Port-au-Prince for her role as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, where she met with survivors of the earthquake.
Brangelina won’t rush into adoption
The report says that the Tomb Raider actress met with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, who asked her if she and her longtime partner Brad Pitt would consider adopting an orphan from Haiti, to which Jolie responded that she and Brad won’t rush into adoption.
Brad and Angelina are raising six children together--three adopted kids and three biological children. The Hollywood’s most famous unmarried couple, known in the media as "Brangelina," have donated $1 million to Haiti.
In response to Amanpour’s question if she and Brad are considering adopting more children, Jolie replied, “I'm always open to children around the world. We're that kind of a family; Brad and I talk about that. But that's not what we're focusing on at this time, by any means. We're not here for that. We're here to see how we can help protect the children in country and scale up the needs here.”
Jolie appeals for aid, not adoption
Instead of hasty adoption, Jolie earlier this week advised people to provide aid for the ravaged country, enabling quake-stricken children to stay there.
"New adoptions should definitely not be encouraged as an immediate response to the emergency. Haiti had many trafficking problems before the earthquake and now must keep a very close watch on the children,” she said. “I would encourage as much support as possible to groups like SOS and UNICEF providing care for children in country."
Brad and Jolie are never legally wed, but they have several businesses and homes together. Brangelina have recently launched a lawsuit against a UK tabloid responsible for fueling their breakup rumors last month.
They are suing Britain's News of the World tabloid over allegations it published about their relationship on Jan. 24. The tabloid report claiming that Brad and Jolie were splitting and dividing their sizeable fortune and assets was widely circulated in international media.
To help combat the break-up rumors, Brad, 46, and Jolie showed up at the Super Bowl on Feb. 7 night in Miami.
Jolie’s V-Day gift for Brad
In related news, it has been reported by a British tabloid that Hollywood beauty has bought an olive tree for her partner Brad as Valentine's Day gift.
The UK Sun reports that Jolie gifted Brad an $18,500 tree for Valentine's Day. They plan to plant the 200-year-old olive tree at their $60 million estate in the south of France.
"Ange bought it from a nursery called The English Garden Centre in Valbonne, near their house. It's a very special tree and cost her a fortune," Sun quoted an insider as saying.
