Besides the phone support, the company also announced reduction in the early termination fee for the smartphone on the T-Mobile USA Inc. network.
New York, February 9 -- There is good news for Nexus One users. The smartphone users will no longer have to depend on the Nexus One support forum to get all their queries answered, as Google has launched a phone support service.
With the service being made available Monday onwards, Nexus One users can call 888-48-NEXUS (63987) from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. EST and talk to a live Google support tech.
In order to get their queries answered from the customer support representative, the users will have to provide their Google order number.
The Google order number, a 15 digit number, is written on Google Checkout order receipt or on the packing slip.
Phone support service to efficiently deal with consumer queries
The move has come almost a month after Nexus One was released in the market.
Since its launch on Jan. 5, Google has been facing a flood of queries and complaints from the smartphone users.
The company has been answering users’ complaints regarding its Nexus One smartphone through its support forum, but users had no direct contact with Google. Those who contacted T-Mobile were told to contact HTC, which only directed the users back to T-Mobile.
Realizing the problems being faced by the users, Google has finally rolled out a solution.
Termination fee lowered
The good news does not end here. Separately, the company also announced reduction in the early termination fee for the smartphone on the T-Mobile USA Inc. network.
Google has dropped the equipment recovery by $200 for Nexus One. Earlier the users had to pay $350 in order to cancel or downgrade their service plan. Now users can break their contract by paying the equipment recovery fee of $150.
The fee applies to users who break their contact after a 14 day trial period but before 120 days. Those who cancel the service plan after 120 days will not be charged termination fee.
