Los Angeles, February 8 -- Ex-Miss California Carrie Prejean is in headlines again. And this time there’s no controversy. The scandalous beauty queen has gotten engaged to St. Louis Rams quarterback, Kyle Boller, six years her senior, the multiple news headlines claim.
After a whirlwind romance, Prejean, who gained sudden notoriety over her controversial same-sex marriage answer during the 2009 Miss USA Pageant and subsequent sex-tape revelations, got engaged to the NFL stud on Super Bowl weekend, E! reports.
Carrie engaged?
Boller, 28, and Prejean, 22, reportedly met and started dating in the midst of her post-Miss America debacle. The two began dating in July (09).
After just 7 months of dating, the two decided to make their whirlwind romance official Saturday in Prejean's hometown of San Diego, where the UC Berkeley alum Boller popped the question to which the blonde beauty queen said “Yes,” according to E! Online.
Boller also has a house in San Diego where he spends time during the off-season.
There has not been official word as to when Prejean and her man will tie the knot.
Carrie’s controversial rise to fame
Prejean has been at the center of numerous scandals, beginning with her anti-same-sex marriage statement at the Miss USA pageant. She then made a big name for herself after partially nude photos of her surfaced — then rumors of a possible sex tape.
Scandal-laden Prejean was dethroned in June after failing to meet her contractual obligations.
Then she had her much-talked about, tension-filled showdown with Larry King on CNN.
Prejean’s anti-gay-marriage controversy
Her controversial remarks about the gay marriage that “a marriage should be between a man and a woman” had cost Prejean her Miss USA crown and she lost it to Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton.
Prejean, a Christian college student who believes in traditional marriage, later said she is not regretful about her gay marriage opinion.
The statuesque San Diego blond eventually was stripped of her crown on June 10 by the organizers of the Miss California USA pageant and Miss USA pageant, who accused her of violating her contract by not making appearances on their behalf and posing candidly on a beach.
In response to those claims, Prejean said the Miss California organizers “fabricated a fraudulent list” of contract violations as grounds for her dismissal.
Sex-tape controversy
As of her alleged tape, which never went public, Prejean said it only involved her, and was made for her then-boyfriend when she was 17 years old.
The statuesque San Diego blond has also written a book out called “Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate and Political Attacks.”
