WWE champs Jericho and Helms arrested after fight in local cab

Cops told TMZ that Helms was not arrested for the alleged attack because none of the alleged victims have pressed charges.

Los Angeles, January 29 -- World Wrestling Entertainment superstars Chris Jericho and Gregory “Hurricane” Helms have been arrested for public intoxication, according to reports. The wrestlers reportedly were involved in a fight at a gas station in Erlanger, Kentucky.

The professional wrestlers were arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place early Wednesday morning after an incident at the Kentucky gas station following Tuesday night’s Smackdown/ECW tapings, reports popular gossip Web site TMZ.com.

Helms wrestles with several people
Citing law enforcement sources, the TMZ report alleges that WWE wrestler Helms struck several people -- including Jericho, another man named Gary Kelley and a woman named Ashley Storer.

As per the gossip Web site’s story Jericho and Helms were among several people in a taxi cab when things allegedly got violent around 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses told cops that Helms struck Jericho, whose real name is Christopher Keith Irvine, and two other passengers -Gary Kelley and Ashley Storer- and ran from the scene.

Sources told TMZ that Helms initially fled the scene following the incident, but soon returned to the Kentucky gas station where he and Jericho were subsequently arrested for being drunk in public.

What actually happened
Jericho and Helms were in the greater Cincinnati area after filming an episode of "Friday Night Smackdown" on Tuesday night at the U.S. Bank Arena.

Reportedly, Erlanger Police were called to the Shell station on Buttermilk Pike in Crescent Springs on Wednesday morning around 4:45 a.m. A call about two men engaged in an altercation inside a cab brought police to the scene. Upon arrival, officers determined both wrestling superstars were under the influence of alcohol.

No charges for alleged attack
Jericho, 39, and Helms, 35, were then taken into custody in Kenton County around 5 a.m. and were charged with "alcohol intoxication in a public place."

Cops told TMZ that Helms was not arrested for the alleged attack because none of the alleged victims have pressed charges-- a requirement for arrest in Kentucky if officers do not actually witness the attack.

Both Helms and Jericho were released later Wednesday morning on $120 bond
