Cameron was arrested at an upscale hotel in New York for carrying a large quantity of an addictive drug with the intent to distribute it. He was arrested July 28 (09) on a methamphetamine-dealing charge at the Hotel Gansevoort in Manhattan.
What are the charges?
The 31-year-old troubled Cameron was arraigned Wednesday morning in a Manhattan federal court where he pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and dealing large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine out of his hotel room, ABC News reports.
After his arrest and while on pretrial release, younger Douglas possessed heroin, the charges said, according to ABC.
Over the course of three years, between 2006 and 2009, Cameron was found to have sent 215 grams of methamphetamine, known by the street names of "crystal meth" and "ice," to New York by FedEx.
As per the complaint, Cameron and his several accomplices, all of whom are cooperating with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, were recorded referring to drugs as "pastry" and "salts" during phone calls.
Arraignment
During the arraignment Wednesday, Cameron told a judge that a New York contact first asked him if he could score the drugs in 2006. After that, "I began supplying on a regular basis," he told the judge.
Asked if he knew what he was doing was illegal, Cameron replied, "Yes, your honor."
Junior Douglas reportedly has signed a plea agreement, but the details are not yet disclosed.
Cameron faces minimum of 10 years and up to life in prison at sentencing on April 27.
Unfortunately, it's not Cameron’s first brush with the law. Back in 2007, he was arrested in California on cocaine possession charges. At that time he was charged with felony for possession of a controlled substance after cops found a syringe with liquid cocaine in a car he was in.
