Los Angeles, January 28 -- Kevin Federline recently confessed how he resorted to comfort eating when depression took over his life and consequently piled up unhealthy pounds on his body.
After his marriage to pop star Britney Spears started falling apart under constant media scrutiny, a concern for his kids and disappointment in himself, sent Kevin into depression and he found himself eating hysterically.
"Once you get depressed, you don't really feel like doing anything," Federline tells Access Hollywood. "You're kind of discouraged about yourself and then the weight gain too, or that makes me more depressed. … I mean, it's a combination of all of those things."
Discontentment, depression and obesity
Refusing to hurl all the blame at his sour relationship with ex-wife Britney Spears, Federline admits that his depression was, in part, instigated by discontentment with himself.
"Everybody knows what happened with me and Brit," he said. "I'm not going to say that's the total cause of it but, I mean, just not being happy with myself was probably the main part of my depression."
Now back into shape following his stint on VH1’s ‘Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp’, Federline says that makers of the show approached him at the right time and he grabbed the opportunity to get back into health. “It just couldn’t have come at a better time,” he said. “I was way, way overweight".
Getting better with ex-wife
Federline, 31 and Spears, 28, together have two boys. They divorced in 2006 but he insists things are now getting cordial between them.
“I mean, I think as time goes on, it keeps getting better and better and better. I mean, I’m really happy the way that my life is going right now, I really am,” said Federline. “I think, you know, I have come a long way. All of us have ... my whole family.
“It’s gotten so much better from where we were,” he added.
Happy for her
Meanwhile, Spears has gotten over her major troubles and is just preparing to get back on the track. She’s touring again and has kept her affairs under the control of her father.
On being asked how he felt about Spears, Federline responded: “I’m in the best possible scenario right now. I’m really happy for her. I’m very happy for her.”
In a surprise revelation, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have gained a claim to $50,000 out of the blue.
The Louisiana State Dept. of Revenue revealed that the government owes the ex-couple over $50,000, which is either an unclaimed interest on some property they owned or the money is from income taxes they transacted before splitting.
They will have to step forward to claim the money and then they can decide how they want to divide it.
