Mayer and Aniston broke off in January 2008 after seeing each other for a year.
New York, January 21 -- John Mayer has apparently not got over his ex-flame Jennifer Aniston. The 32-year-old says he has not stopped thinking about Jen since their break-up in January 2008.
In an interview to Rolling Stones the singer said, “I’ve never really gotten over it. It was one of the worst times of my life.”
Mayer went on to say his sex life was completely hopeless, and that he faced endless stream of rejections after the break-up.
Mayer and Aniston had a hot and cold romance till the time they were together. They quit officially in Aug. 2008, but stayed on in the relation for 3 months more till the Oscars of 2009.
Meyer still likes Aniston
Mayer was frank and blunt during the interview, and said he still craved to settle down with the right woman.
His latest tweet on Wednesday morning said, “Just read my Rolling Stone cover article. I'm still not sure if I would want to hang out with me. After 30 minutes of twirling my hair into a knot, I say 'f--- it.' You can't go wrong if you tell the truth.”
“I'll be happy when I close out this life-partner thing. Think of how much mental capacity I'm using to meet the right person so I can stop giving a f--- about it,” he said.
Mayer even told about what he wanted in a woman. He said he wanted to have something special in his partner, something like a “Joshua Tree.” For him, a “Joshua Tree” means girls he could feasibly “pitch a tent on and just camp out on for, like, a weekend.”
Mayer also confessed he still liked Aniston.
He said, “What would I be saying to Jen, who I think is f---ing fantastic, if I said to her, ‘I don't dislike you. In fact, I like you extremely well. But I have to back out of this because it doesn't arc over the horizon. This is not where I see myself for the rest of my life. This is not my ideal destiny.’”
