Los Angeles, January 17 -- Rumors ran rampant recently that Miley Cyrus and her new Aussie lover, Liam Hemsworth, may be getting hitched. But, a rep for the “Hanna Montana” star has shot down those reports, insisting the starlet is not engaged to Hemsworth.
Speculation that Miley may be walking down the aisle anytime soon began swirling after the Disney star was spotted in Hollywood sporting a diamond ring on her left hand.
What sparked rumors
Tongues started wagging that the 17-year-old ‘Hannah Montana’ star is engaged to her 19-year-old beau Liam Hemsworth after tabloids like HollywoodLife.com and PopEater.com ran photos of the Disney darling with a sparkler on her left fourth finger.
Rumors shot down
But, a rep for Miley put a check to the fueling rumors, abruptly denying that the pair was preparing to seal their union.
"Miley's not engaged," her rep tells People.
Also, an insider confirmed to E! Online that Miley is not engaged to the Australian hottie of a Last Song costar, Liam Hemsworth, but she's "totally in love" and thinks he is "the one."
Miley sees herself "marrying young," a source tells E!, "but not at 17."
Miley, Liam: Indeed an item
Miley Cyrus, who will be leaving her hit Disney Channel TV show next year, and Australian actor Liam Hemsworth are believed to be dating. The two have reportedly been dating since they met on the set of their highly anticipated film, 'The Last Song'.
In August (09), the two were spotted locking lips before Hemsworth departed Nashville following their work on the movie "The Last Song", fueling speculation that they are an item.

The singer-actress is also rumored to be starring in the next “Sex and the City” installment as a young Carrie Bradshaw.
