Los Angeles, January 9 -- Disney queen Miley Cyrus will retire the ‘Hannah Montana’ character soon! Yes, it’s true, the Disney Channel confirmed the New York Post Friday that its blockbuster show “Hannah Montana” starring Miley will come to an end after its fourth season.
Disney’s hit comedy Hannah Montana, which made its debut in 2006, features the cute tweenie daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus as a teen pop star that struggles to keep a balance between her famous and her private life.
Hanna Montana retiring
Rumors ran rampant in recent months that Miley was leaning towards retiring the show. Now, reps for Disney confirmed the news that the show will wrap production in 2010 and air its series finale in spring, 2011.
The show begins shooting its fourth season Jan. 18 and will continue until the final episode in March 2011, which is when the season finale will take place.
The season three finale, titled “Is Miley Saying Goodbye?” will air as a one-hour special in mid-March, and mirror the actress-singer's own growing pains. The series will set up the story line for the fourth season. It will be "a big one-hour event where we find out what Miley Stewart's decision is going to be," Disney Channel executive Andy Bonnett tells the Post.
"It's one of the things [her character Miley Stewart] has been wrestling with for months," Bonnett added. "Whether it's time to make a decision to continue being Hannah Montana or just be a regular, ordinary girl."
"You never know in this business ... but right now, we're scheduled to wrap after shooting this new batch of episodes," he continued. "The [new] episodes will continue to roll out at least over a full year."
Miley out of reel life
After a world tour performing as Hanna Montana of Disney series, the actress is currently enjoying her success. In 2009, Hanna Montana was Disney Channel’s No. 1 series having high viewership overall.
It is believed that Miley Cyrus, 17, and Australian actor Liam Hemsworth are dating. The two have reportedly been dating since they met on the set of their highly anticipated film, 'The Last Song'.
In August (09), the two were spotted locking lips before Liam departed for Nashville following their work on the movie "The Last Song".
"The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks, is said to be one of the most notable romantic novel. The movie will release in April 2010.
