The police have launched an investigation to find out how Sladewski ended up being burnt in a dumpster and who is the murderer
New York, January 8 -- Paula Sladewski, a 26-year-old model who went missing Sunday, has been declared dead by the Miami police Wednesday.
Sladewski was identified by the police as the person found dead and burned in a trash bin Sunday. As the body was charred beyond recognition, the investigators used dental records to identify the remains.
Brutal death shrouded in mystery
Glamour model Sladewski, who once appeared in a video released in 2003, was in Florida with her boyfriend Kevin Klym for the New Year’s celebration.
On Sunday night, the couple was seen together at Club Space in Miami. The two reportedly had an altercation, following which Klym was asked to leave by the club bouncers and Sladewski decided to stay.
Klym went back to the hotel room and waited for Sladewski but she never returned.
The same night Sladewski’s body was found by the firefighters who were extinguishing the fire in a large trash bin near a propone store.
The police have launched an investigation to find out how Sladewski ended up being burnt in a dumpster and who is the murderer.
Klym has been named as the person of interest, as he was the last known person to see Sladewski alive.
Volatile relationship with boyfriend
Though Klym has not been named as a suspect, the couple reportedly had a volatile relationship.
Sladewski’s stepfather Richard Watkins told FoxNews.com that her daughter had often sent text messages to her ex-boyfriend to save her from Klym. A message read, "help me, I'm in trouble, he's trying to kill me."
It is not clear if the messages were sent while the couple was on a vacation to Florida.
Klym also had many charges of domestic violence against him. Two months ago, he was arrested for punching Sladewski and breaking her nose.
So far, Klym has maintained his innocence and has not been charged in connection to Sladewski’s death.
Family shocked by death news
Sladewski’s family is devastated by the news of death. On Monday, Klym had called the family to tell them that she was missing.
Sladewski's sister, Kelly Farris travelled to Florida to identify her sister’s body. Battling her tears at a press conference, Farris told reporters that her sister loved life and “she was full of life".
Farris said that she could not imagine anything like this happening. "We can't even give her an open casket. We can't even see her again."
She pleaded and asked for anyone who had information into her sister’s death.
