Rush Limbaugh: Nothing wrong with heart or arteries

Doctors could not determine the exact cause of pain in his upper left chest, which the conservative commentator and author said was "like I have never experienced before"

Los Angeles, January 2 -- U.S. radio and TV personality Rush Limbaugh has been released from a Hawaii hospital after doctors found nothing wrong with his heart or arteries, according to multiple tabloid reports.

Limbaugh was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after suffering sharp chest pains.

The 58-year-old influential conservative radio host was brought at the Queens Medical Center after paramedics were called at the Kahala Hotel at 2:41 PM.

Limbaugh discharged
According to ABC News, Limbaugh, who made no public statements during his two days in the medical facility, broke his silence Friday, announcing that he was discharged from the hospital on Friday morning.

Tests were performed on him after he was admitted to the Hawaii hospital. But the hospital found absolutely nothing wrong with him.

"They found absolutely nothing wrong. It was a blessing. No arterial disease, no coronary disease whatsoever," Limbaugh told reporters at Honolulu's Queen's Medical Center.

Cause of pain not known
However, doctors could not determine the exact cause of pain in his upper left chest, which the conservative commentator and author said was "like I have never experienced before."

He continued, “The pain was real, and they don’t know what caused it.”

Doctors gave Limbaugh an angiogram, or an imaging of the arteries and heart, to determine what caused the pain.

Happy with the medical system
Limbaugh praised the care of the medical staff and called their work "confidence-inspiring."

"The treatment I received here was the best that the world has to offer," he said. "I don't think there's one thing wrong with the American health care system. It is working just fine."

Hospitalization is the wake-up call
According to CNN, Limbaugh has taken his recent hospitalization as a good lesson as he approaches his 59th birthday January 12.

"It takes things like this in life to prepare you for the eventuality that you are getting older," he said. "You're not as young as you were and not as invincible as you once thought you were."

Limbaugh also urged people who experiences heart or chest pain to seek medical help as soon as possible.

"Don't mess with it," he said.

It was unclear when the multimillionaire radio host would return to his top-rated radio show.
