Report: Lautner, Swift's whirlwind romance is over

Los Angeles, December 30 -- Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift’s whirlwind romance came to an abrupt end and they are now just friends, according to Us Magazine.
American country/pop singer Taylor Swift and “New Moon” star Taylor Lautner have parted their ways after three months of dating, the magazine has learned.
Why the Taylors broke up?
"It wasn't really developing into anything, and wasn't going to, so they decided they were better as friends," a source close to the singer tells Us. "There was no chemistry, and it felt contrived."
The source added, “He liked her more than she liked him. He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn't travel much to see him.”
Swift, 20, and Twilight hunk Lautner, 17, first met on the set of romantic comedy Valentine’s Day in October and since then were rumored to be dating.
The pair never publicly confirmed, but quipped about their budding romance when they each hosted US show Saturday Night Live.
Relationship was not so serious
In related news, it has been reported that the same-name duo were not that much serious about their relationship.
Citing a source close to Swift, People.com reports, "It was never a big deal to begin with. The media made way more out of it than it is."
"They went out on a few dates and realized this was just not going anywhere," the source adds.
"They became good friends and then went out a few times, but he lives in L.A. and she lives in Nashville and their busy schedules kept it from becoming more than it was," the source further tells the magazine.
However, word is that a day after his Dec. 12 Saturday Night Live appearance, Lautner flew down to Nashville to surprise Swift for her 20th birthday party the next day. After that the two rising stars decided that it made more sense just to remain friends.
Taylors’ short-lived fling
Taylor first sparked rumors of a romance when Swift hugged Lautner at her October 9 concert in Rosemont, Illinois.
They have since been photographed together on several occasions. For instance, Lautner was spotted attending two of Swift's concerts in Chicago, and then the two reunited three weeks later at an L.A. Kings hockey game.
The two were also spotted on frozen yogurt date at Menchie's alongside Swift's mom earlier this month.
