The beautiful, Brittany Murphy died at the age of 32 on Sunday and had a quite, private funeral on Christmas Eve

Los Angeles, US, December 25: Hollywood’s Brittany Murphy who died due to a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home on Sunday had a small, private funeral service on Christmas Eve, attended by family and close friends.

The 32 year old actress was buried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, which also houses graves of luminaries such as Liberace, Bette Davis, Lucille Ball, Gene Autry and Freddie Prinze.

Reportedly, a large memorial service may be held early next year for the actor who worked in some great movies like ‘Clueless’, ‘Girl, Interrupted’, ‘Just Married’, ‘Abandoned’ among others.

Brittany’s husband awaits autopsy results
It was being said that the actor dies due to drugs or an eating disorder but her husband Simon Monjack, who is a British writer, producer and director, rubbished all these as false rumors.

“These rumors that she was anorexic? It's crazy. She was slim but that was her natural physique. This is what's killing all of us? How did it happen? Her mum, myself and her family, we want to know why we lost our baby,” he says.

He also informed that Brittany stayed in bed all day due to laryngitis, a day prior to her death and she had herbal tea, ginger and lemon to treat it.

“She was on herbal remedies that wouldn't speed up her heart. There was nothing here that could endanger her. There was prescription medication in the house for her female time and some cough syrup. That was it,” he continues.

Monjack is eagerly awaiting the autopsy results which are due in four to six weeks to know how his beloved wife lost her life.

It may be noted that anxiety pills, painkillers and depression tablets were found at her residence by investigators but no foul play has been suspected and her mother Sharon also denies any rumors of her daughter’s dependence on drugs.

Murphy's father not attended the funeral ceremony
Brittany's father, Angelo Bertolotti, was not present in her funeral ceremony as he did not want to see her dead body.

He says, “I was very shocked by her death. I can't believe it really. It happened so fast, I'm just trying to figure it all out right now. I'm very upset by it.”

“If I wanted to go to the funeral I would go, but I don't want to see her that way. She was flawless to me. She was a little bright child. I have only good memories about her. She's a memory to me now. To me she's off making a movie somewhere,” he adds.

The actor and her father were not in talking terms with each other for more than a year and he had never met Brittany’s husband till date.

Her husband concludes, “She was one of the world's great actresses. She loved her job along with her family and puppy. We were more blessed to have Brittany in our lives than she could have been to have us.”
