Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady welcome baby boy

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady announced the birth of the baby, who is yet to be named, in a press conference on Wednesday.

He told reporters that the baby was born on Tuesday in Boston and that Bundchen and the baby were in good health.

"It went great," said Brady. "I didn't get much sleep."

He said the birth of their first son is "the most wonderful experience” their life adding that they have not picked out a name yet.

No further details about the newborn, such as his weight, or exactly when he was born have been released.

The Boston Globe reports that Bundchen's mom and at least a few of her sisters were at her bedside when she delivered the baby.

This is the first child for the 29-year-old queen of catwalk Bundchen, and the second for the American football star Tom Brady.

Brady’s ex sends good wishes
The 32-year-old sports star already has a two-year-old son, John Edward Moynahan, with actress Bridget Moynahan, whom he left in late 2006 to start a relationship with the supermodel.

Meanwhile, Bridget has sent out good wishes to her ex and his supermodel spouse.

“I wish them the best with their baby and I’m sure my son will enjoy having a half-sibling,” Bridget told the New York Daily News. “I ask the press to respect our privacy while we are welcoming this new addition to our extended family.”

Rumors about Bundchen's baby bump had begun swirling in the summer, although the couple confirmed the happy news several months later.

Brady knew the baby’s gender
Just last week, Brady revealed that he knew the baby’s gender but was keeping it a secret from his supermodel wife at her request, as she wanted to be surprised.

"I'm really the only one that knows the sex at this point," the sports star said. "My dad asked me and I haven't told him. Gisele doesn't know. I wanted to find out and she didn't so she said, 'Go ahead'. It will be a surprise for her. It's a pretty good feeling knowing something that nobody else knows, especially her, a very intelligent woman."

He was also named the 2007 NFL MVP, as well as 2007 Male Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press.

Brady and Gisele exchanged wedding vows twice-first in a small, Catholic wedding ceremony in Los Angeles in February and then said “I Do” in April in Costa Rica in front of family and friends.
