The Jackson kids, who are currently in the custody of their grandmother Katherine, often appeared masked or veiled in public

Los Angeles, December 3 -- Late pop legend Michael Jackson’s three young children are among Barbara Walters' Most Fascinating People of the year, according to The Associated Press report.

On Wednesday, Barbara Walters revealed details for her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 TV special, in which she will highlight some of the year's most prominent names in entertainment, sports, politics, and pop culture.

Most fascinating persons revealed
Hosted by Walters, the upcoming TV special, "The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009", will include a profiles of the late King of Pop's kids, and some other pop-culture sensations like Lady Gaga (GAH'-gah) and glam rocker Adam Lambert, among others.

The Jackson kids, who are currently in the custody of their grandmother Katherine, often appeared masked or veiled in public. Their fiercely protective father, Michael Jackson, rarely brought them out in public, and whenever he did he covered their faces in veils and party masks to protect their identity.

Jackson kids 'Most Fascinating'
Prince Michael Joseph, 12, Paris Michael Katherine, 11, and Prince Michael II, (known as Blanket), 7, who came out of the veil only after the tragic death of their legendary father in June, are now picked as some of the most fascinating people of 2009.

As the Jacko kids were strictly shielded from the spotlight after their father’s sudden death, it’s still unknown whether or not Prince Michael I, Paris Katherine, and Blanket, who are evidently being counted as one person, have been interviewed for the program.

Joining Jackson kids in this year’s list of most fascinating people are famous mother of eight Kate Gosselin; former vice presidential candidate/ author/professional "maverick" Sarah Palin; American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert; NFL quarterback Brett Favre; filmmaker Tyler Perry; South Carolina's first lady Jenny Sanford; Fox News pundit Glenn Beck; and pop star Lady Gaga.

10th most fascinating person is a secret
The ABC TV journalist Walters has kept the tenth person on the list a secret. According to the AP report, the identity of Walter's 10th fascinating person, who will probably be whoever tops Google Trends the same day as the producers' deadline, will be revealed when the program airs next week.

US President Barack Obama had filled the mystery slot in last year's edition.

"The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009" will air on the Walt Disney-owned ABC on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 10 p.m. ET.
