Los Angeles, December 2 -- Nick Jonas, youngest member of “The Jonas Brothers” boy band is parting with his brothers to play on a solo tour with his band, “The Administration.”
The 17-year-old Jonas announced on Monday that he will be taking on a solo project and go on a nationwide tour with his new band through Twitter.
He tweeted, “I am so excited to share this announcement I decided to tell you now! THE ADMINISTRATION & I ARE GOING ON TOUR IN JANUARY!”
Catch the tour
The band called “Nick Jonas & the Administration” will perform songs from their first album entitled “Who I Am”.
They will kick off their tour on the second day of next year, January 2, 2010 on Dallas, Texas and continue performing in 13 more cities, which include New York and California, until January 30. Tickets for the concerts will be on sale starting on Saturday.
The Jonas Brothers not over
Nick Jonas is venturing into a different path but this does not mean that “The Jonas Brothers” is now over. “The Administration” serves as a side project for Nick and as his representatives explains is a venue for the teen idol to create songs that are "not quite right for the Jonas Brothers”.
Kevin and Joe, Nick’s older brothers, are also giving their support to the new career path their brother is going through.
Nick even tweeted, “I just have to say thanks to my brothers for being as supportive as they've been.” Both Kevin and Joe also announced “The Administration’s” tour on their respective Twitter pages.
Something different
In an interview with People Magazine, Nick revealed that it will be weird performing without his brothers and having the spotlight set on him. He said, "I've never really stood center stage before. It's going to be different but I'm looking forward to it."
Fans wanting to get a taste of what Nick Jonas’ new band is like must stay tuned to music stations because the band’s first single is set to be released today.
They will also be making their first television appearance as they perform during the Grammy Awards nomination concert at Los Angeles Wednesday.
