Donnie Osmond and his partner Kym Johnson performed Argentine tango on the night of the finale
Los Angeles, CA, November 25 -- On Tuesday night, Donnie Osmond was crowned the winner of the current season of reality show “Dancing with the Stars”.
An exuberant Osmond took home the Mirror Ball Trophy after the finale of ABC’s reality show.
After the results were announced, the former teen pop star exclaimed “I did it!” and fished out his wife Debbie from amongst the crowd.

Osmond wowed the judges and viewers by performing an Argentine tango with his partner Kym Johnson. Praising Osmond’s performance, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called it an “artistry in motion”.
The three celebrities to make it to the finale of “Dancing with the Stars” were: Osmond, singer Mya and Kelly Osbourne. Osmond was declared the winner after combining viewers’ votes and judges’ scores.
Each of the three finalists gave three performances for the finale on Monday, the night before the results were announced. Kelly Osbourne was the first of the three finalists to be eliminated.
Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel performed a Viennese Waltz, Mya and Dmitri Chaplin performed a Jive, while Donnie Osmond and Kym Johnson performed an Argentine tango as they competed for the Mirror Ball Trophy.
After Osmond’s performance, judge Len Goodman said, “You epitomize what this competition is about. I thought you came out and danced right up there."
Judges Inaba and Tonioli hailed the performance as one full of "intimacy and intensity” and "the revelation of the season", respectively. "That was truly an absolute show stopper," was judge Goodman’s reaction to Osmond’s Freestyle dance.
The show consistently received good ratings and was amongst one of the most-watched shows this fall.
Congressman Tom DeLay, the most popular contestant on this season's show, continued to seize headlines till the time he was on the show. However, he had to withdraw due to sustaining stress fractures in his feet. DeLay returned to sets of “Dancing with the Stars” on the night of the finale.
Apart from DeLay, several former participants were also present on Tuesday night. These included, Michael Irvin, winner of the second season Jerry Rice, Pop star Aaron Carter, who was voted out earlier this season, Whitney Houston, and last season’s winner gymnast Shawn Johnson.
The finale is expected to have attracted an audience of nearly 16.2 million.
