Jennifer Lopez laughs off her AMA award stumble

Lopez, who had been on break from performing since the birth of her twins, landed on her bottom during her ‘comeback’ performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday night.

The singer’s slip-up occurred during her run through her newest song from “Love?” titled “Louboutins”.

On Monday (Nov. 23), J. Lo appeared on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show and shed light on her AMA fall.

The singer first joked with the show host that she doesn’t remember any fall. ‘Fall? What fall?’ was how a laughing Lopez responded when Ryan asked her about the AMA incident.

"Did I? Did I? Did I trip a little bit? I don't even remember," the 40-year-old singer said with a chuckle.

She further joked that her brief stumble was part of the plan. "Yeah, I meant to do that. You should know me better than that. That was part of the choreography."

The incident occurred when Lopez ascended the backs of her shirtless back-up male dancers during her performance of her latest song "Louboutins" and leaped into the air after reaching the top.

While jumping off the last rung in her human staircase, the singer seemingly lost her footing on landing and fell flat momentarily onto her backside. She then instantly jumped up and continued with her routine.

Ryan gave J. Lo props for what he termed "the greatest recovery ever”, which Lopez accepted seriously and explained that, "The measure of things is not what happens when you fall, it's how you recover when you fall ... It was fun, it was really fun," she said. "It was nice to be back on stage and doing my thing."

While Lopez gracefully explained the whole incidence and jokingly brushed off her embarrassing AMA stumble, the singer actually was upset backstage after her performance, according to FOX News.

"She walked off the stage absolutely fuming," FOX News quoted an insider as saying. "She was so upset, and ready to kill. Jennifer was a perfectionist about that performance and practiced hard."

Lopez’s brief AMA stumble titled online as "Jennifer Lopez Falls" soon became one of the most searched terms on Google, You Tube, and the most talked about item on Twitter.
