Chris Brown, 20, dated the “Disturbia” singer for a year until the assault incident in February. He was arrested on Feb. 8 in Los Angeles on suspicion of making criminal threats against his fellow R&B singer Rihanna after a late-night dispute.
In the violent incident that occurred on the night of the Grammy Awards, Brown had attacked his then sweetheart Rihanna, leaving her bruised.
Brown was then charged with the two felony counts- assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, and making criminal threats, in connection with the alleged feud with Rihanna.
He pleaded guilty to felony assault in June, and was sentenced in August to five years' probation and six months' community labor.
Rihanna can’t escape Brown’s memories
Earlier this month, Rihanna candidly told ABC News’ Diane Sawyer about the February incident, speaking about what happened on the night of the Grammy Awards with Brown.
Now, the Barbados-born singer, who was left bloodied and bruised ten months ago by Brown, confessed she still misses her then beau and loves listening to his music on the radio, reports thesun.co.uk.
The British tabloid further says that the singer, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, can’t escape the rapper’s memories after ten months of the altercation which ended their relationship.
Rihanna said: “Sometimes (I miss Chris). Actually, yes… There are a lot of reminders, like a lot of hotel rooms, a lot of places we’ve been to together, music. There are different things that come up that are reminders of your ex.”
She also admitted she still listens to Brown’s music. “I don’t snub or turn it (the radio) off; I listen. I like his music,” the pop singer said.
RiRi’s fourth album out
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old pop superstar’s new album "Rated R" has reached the stores today (Nov. 23). The album is Rihanna's fourth in five years and her first since her altercation with former boyfriend Chris Brown.
Released by Def Jam Recordings, the album consists of 13 tracks, five out of which are writer by the hip-hop queen Rihanna.
