Thousands turn out at ‘New Moon’ premiere

The sexy beasts from the Twilight universe will take over the sky as the 'New Moon' rises on Nov. 20 this Friday.

Los Angeles, November 17 -- Making the Twilight mania bigger, the actors unleashed the sequel “The Twilight Saga: New Moon" in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, Monday evening.

And this year’s big screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series has a bigger fan base. Many of the “Twi-hard” fans started lining up for the tickets since last week to get a glimpse of their favorite vampires and werewolves.

Nearly 800 tickets were available for the red carpet premiere, which were all distributed by Monday Morning.

Thousands of fans arrived in the afternoon to secure a place and watch arrival of the Twilight stars on the red carpet.

As the evening finally arrived, some fans leaned over barricades, others sat on beach chairs, wearing homemade Twilight T-shirts and waving "Bite Me, Edward" signs, with the grin in their eyes telling that the stars were just perfect.

Stars say “New Moon” premiere all about fans
Robert Pattinson, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the sequel, said that this year's crowd of thousands of fans was larger than 2008’s.

"It's gotten bigger," he grinned, looking around at the fans. "I think so. Especially as we travel all over the entire world. We had 20,000 people in Munich yesterday. It's kind of incredible, to have done all these cities in a week, and it's still just as intense everywhere."

“And it seems different to me because we have done this world tour in the last week and it has just been unbelievable in every single city. It is about 10 times bigger than any other city in the world," he said.

The tiny Taylor Lautner, who replaced Jacob Black last winter, grew better and muscular for the Twilight sequel, and said, "We all know the premiere for 'Twilight' was insane, but this is multiplied by 10. I did not expect this at all!"

"We put a lot of hard work into this film," Lautner said of "New Moon". "I'm dying for it to come out."

An astounding love saga of a human and a vampire, the Twilight series has captured the attention of millions across the country.

As Kristen Stewart walked the red carpet, she grinned, "I'm not as scared as I was last year."

"At some point, the security guy said, 'This is very unsafe.' And I was like, 'Uh.' Other than that, everything was cool," Kristen said.
