Samsung trying to carve a niche in the smartphone market
Samsung has been focusing on providing multi-operational systems in the smartphones and with the launch of Galaxy Spica it is carrying forward this very approach.
Samsung already has to its credit the Windows Mobile-powered phones and Google Android devices. The company also ships entry-level smartphones that work on its own proprietary operating system.
However, Samsung wants to cash in on the profitable market of operating systems and applications stores. Keeping this in mind, the company launched Bada. It is a software layer on top of Samsung’s proprietary operating system (OS) that permits app development. The phones equipped with Bada OS will be available early next year.
