The exit of both Aaron has narrowed the field down to four dancers who are still in the running for the show's coveted mirrorball trophy
Los Angeles, November 11:Cycle 9 of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” continued on Tuesday (Nov. 10) with the ouster of another celebrity dancer. Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff yesterday bid farewell to the ballroom on “Dancing.”
Carter and his professional dancing partner won't be running anymore for the mirrorball trophy. The duo fell just short of the semifinals and got booted off the dancing competition.
Field narrows down to four
On Tuesday night’s elimination episode, the show hosts first revealed the names of couples who were safe: Joanna Krupa & Derek Hough, Mya & Dmitry Chaplin and Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson.
This meant the two couples would fall in the bottom two- Kelly Osbourne and Louis van Amstel and Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff- based on their Monday’s performance.
Of the two, Aaron fell short while Kelly advanced to the semi-finals.
Aaron earned judges praise but lost
Aaron finished a point behind Kelly and eventually got eliminated. He succeeded in impressing the judges with his fox trot and samba Monday night. Judge Len Goodman congratulated him on all his hard work.
“You’re an inspiration to all young people that anything is possible and if you were my son, I would be so proud of you,” Goodman said, according to People. “But more importantly, you be proud of yourself, because you’ve been great.”
After learning his fate, the 21-year-old singer said he learnt a lot on the show. “I grew up on the show,” he told the celebrity magazine after his elimination on Tuesday night. “There were a lot of epiphany moments and I learned a lot from [pro partner Karina Smirnoff].”
Dancing partner was like father
As of his dancing partner, Aaron said Smirnoff supported him to the way his father encouraged him.
“It was almost like my father a little bit because my dad … taught me so many different things, but the way he did it, he only had to do it once,” he said. “She did the same thing. When it came to learning something about me, she only had to say something one time.”
He also told OK!: “The journey was amazing. I learned so many things. I’ve grown so much within myself and I can feel it. This was like a life training boot camp. That’s what it felt like. I feel so much better that I’ve done this. I’m stronger, wiser.”
