The rock and roll band Aerosmith, popular for their Rolling Stone image and drug use
Los Angeles, November 10-- Aerosmith's lead singer Steven Tyler has left the band after 40 glorious years, and now the band is reportedly looking for a replacement.
One of the most successful American band, Aerosmith's lead guitarist Joe Perry has officially declared it on Twitter, that the band is "positively looking for a new singer to work with." The issues with 61 year old, Steven Tyler have not been resolved, and thus this conclusion has been reached to all the fans dismay.
Moving on
Despite of not having the flamboyant Tyler in their wagon, the band has decided to move on. They are recruiting a new lead vocalist, according to Perry's Twitter feed.
He said, "Aerosmith is such a powerful band, I mean it's like a steam locomotive. You just can't disregard 40 years of four guys who play together as well as they do. We're just trying to - at least I am - trying to figure out what direction the band should take.”
According to Perry, Tyler has not written a single song for the band for nearly a decade.
About the new inclusion, he further added that even though Tyler was “one of a kind, but if somebody was willing to do it and the chemistry was right, why not?"
Parting ways
Rumors has it that Tyler has been considering going solo for a while, and had hired his own manager. He has cut off contact with his band several months ago, and has not been returning their calls, according to Perry.
He has told a newspaper "Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don't know any more than you do about it."
Tyler's decision to quit first reached a British Magazine, instead of his band members, when in an interview he said he is interested in his own projects now, referring to them as “Brand Tyler”.
Perry has said that learning about Tyler quitting online was disappointing, and described Tyler's attitude as “a bit cold”.
Perry himself has already successfully gone solo. He recently released his fifth album, and is embarking on a major tour in 2010.
The rift between the band members had become obvious when Tyler had broken his shoulder in the North America tour, and none of them accompanied him to the hospital.
The Rock & Roll Gods
The band has had a nasty, but true to their genre reputation of indulgence, courtesy Tyler and Perry. They were popularly known as the “bad boys from Boston”. Both have a glorious past with many multi platinum albums to their credit.
This is however, not the first time that the band is going through a break down. In 1979, Perry left the band, followed by Brad Withford in 1981. They subsequently got reunited, until Tyler joined the rehab for his age long Heroin addiction in 1986.
