Los Angeles, November 2 -- The Oscar-winning actor-turned-director, Mel Gibson, and his Russian girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, have welcomed their first child together into the world on Friday, according to media reports on the Internet.
The 53-year-old “Braveheart” actor confirmed the rumored pregnancy of his girlfriend in May. During a taping of “The Tonight Show” that month, Gibson revealed to Jay Leno that his Russian girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, is expecting their baby.

Now, several media reports are claiming that Grigorieva has given birth to Gibson’s child on Friday. The actor is currently in the middle of a multi-million dollar divorce from his wife of nearly three decades, Robyn.
According to the New York Daily News, the delivery went well and the new mom and the baby, reportedly a daughter, are doing well at home.

Though this is the couple's first child together, it is Gibson's eighth and his 39-year-old girlfriend’s second. The "Lethal Weapon" actor has seven children - one daughter and six sons- with his estranged wife Robyn.
Their seven children are daughter Hannah (born 1980), twin boys Edward and Christian (born 1982), William (born 1985), Louis (born 1988), Milo (born 1990), and Thomas (born 1999).
Grigorieva also has a son, Alexander, with her former boyfriend, British actor and former James Bond star Timothy Dalton.
A bit on Gibson’s personal and love life
It has been a whirlwind year for Gibson and his girlfriend Grigorieva. In April, the actor went public about his romantic relationship with Grigorieva.
Just two weeks after Robyn filed for divorce, Gibson introduced his new lady love to the world as he walked hand-in-hand with her at the Los Angeles screening for 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' at Hollywood's Grauman's Chinese Theater.
Robyn filed for divorce in April this year after 28 years of marriage to Gibson. Although the couple that married on June 7, 1980 in a Catholic Church in Forestville, New South Wales, Australia had called it quits almost three years back, Robyn officially filed for divorce in Los Angeles court in April, citing irreconcilable differences with her actor hubby.
Robyn’s divorce filing came only a few weeks after Gibson was spotted playing on a beach with his girlfriend, whom he previously acknowledged meeting in 2008 after she had been signed to his Icon Records label.
