Michael Jackson has joined the league of musicians who sold just as many records after their death, as prior to it, and has thus become immortalized in the eyes of people. His new movie “This is it” is the footage of his rehearsal tour which was to begin in July, his first in 12 years.
The movie will hit the theaters on Wednesday, and will be screened for a limited two week period, to the anguish of many.
”This is it”
The documentary is as long as a feature film, and showcases Jackson's life while preparing for the concert.
Sony’s senior vice president of media relations, Steve Elzer, said: “Michael Jackson's ‘This Is It’ is a celebration of Michael and his music and the film will demonstrate to fans around the world that he was an artist like no other who was passionately creating a one-of-a-kind concert experience. We believe his fans will be grateful for the rare opportunity to see Michael's creativity in action as he prepared and rehearsed for his upcoming London concerts.”
The song “This is it”, which has been called a “lovesick” ballad, is the first release after Jackson's death. It was co written by Paula Anka, and is said to be just one of the many unreleased tracks of Michael Jackson. The news has created much excitement amongst his fans who are yearning to listen to more from the “king of pop”.
Always contentious
With a few days left to its release, the movie has sparked a major controversy amidst Jackson's fans who are calling it a way to milk the star's death. Their campaign is to bring out the dark truths about Jackson’s death.
According to the enraged fans, they plan to expose the “blatant lies and attempted cover-up by those around Michael in his final months”. A website by the name of “thisisnotit.com”, and a dedicated Facebook page already exist to further this “awareness campaign”.
The Jackson Family
The Jacksons were going to be a part of a reality TV show called the "The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty". The show is still on after Michael's death, and is set to be aired in December. Predictions are that the TRPs will shoot up, since a sneak peak will be provided on the response of the family on Michael's death.
There is a persistent hunger to know more about the dead star, and Jackson's three children, Paris, Prince, and Blanket are in the spot light for their rumored role in the reality TV show.
Concerts galore
Concerts organized in his honor are sprouting aplenty. From Jermaine Jackson whose tribute show is under the works, to every small high school band, all are singing to the tunes of Jackson, for Jackson. For Jermaine's concert, many important artists are being predicted to participate, in front of a viewer ship of 70,000 people.
With five American Music Awards to his name, along with 5.9 million solo albums' sales since his death, one can barely say that Michael Jackson is dead. The man has the best selling music album ever, “Thriller” to his credit, and is likely to be the bestselling artist of this year.
MICHAEL NOT A DRUG USER
iT HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN THAT mICHAEL WAS A DRUG USER ,THE ONLY DRUGS FOUND IN HIM DURING THE AUTOPSY WAS THE ONES CONRAD MURRAY INJECTED HIM WITH.SO STOP SAYING HE WAS A DRUG ABUSER..NOT SO...
LOVING MICHAEL
WE the fans of Michael do not want to hear or read anything NEGATIVE about Michael.IT is not fair to him because he is not hear to defend himself..ALSO Jermaine WE do not want you to have a tribute for Michael.....Maybe tito or Jackie can do something for their lil brother..
Thank God for the Autopsy
Yes Michael Jackson was a drug user, but it is also illegal for an entertainment company to hire a doctor and pay him $150,000 a month to illegally inject Michael Jackson with an anestetic that results in his death. You can't inject a drug addict at his request because it makes you an accomplice and if he dies you don't want to end up holding the bag.

Wow, glad to see you care so much about tabloid news that you follow MJ articles to spew your misguided information. I love Michael Jackson, for his talent. His hard work has paid off. If you don't like him, don't bother reading his articles. I hope after your funeral people don't merely talk about the jobs you were fired from, the divorces you've had or any of your other cracked up moments in life. Respectfully I read this article to appreciate MJ's talented moments. Your comments did NOT ruin this for me.
LOL, you actually think that
LOL, you actually think that his death wouldn't be exploited? He was not a saint nor an angel, and if you believe that, then i have some ocean front property at Netherlands Ranch for you. It comes with little boys, endless entertainment by the "This Is It" Band featuring little boys in PJ's. People need to realize that he was a drug user, amongst a vast list of other things. I can go on forever on this topic but i have already wasted about 3 or 4 minutes of my life, that unfortunately will never come back, however i bet Michael has some "comeback" on him right about now; and I bet "Mikey Likes It" well "This Is It" for now, talk to you all soon.
MJ is The King
So true that Michael is not really dead, he is alive and will live forever through his genius music and dancing and performances and all of the work that he never released that we have to look forward to. Can't wait for TII.
