Los Angeles, October 14: Ultimate Fighting Champion Chuck Liddell and his professional dancing partner Anna Trebunskaya on Tuesday night got booted off the "Dancing with the Stars" competition in Los Angeles, becoming the sixth couple to be eliminated from the hit ABC show.
The mixed martial arts star, also known as the ‘Iceman,’ headed home Tuesday night after scoring lowest marks from the judges’ panel and insufficient fan support.
Fighting champ knocked out
Chuck "Iceman" Liddell and his pro dancing partner Anna Trebunskaya earned praise from the judges for their entertaining country two-step Monday, but the pair scored the lowest overall points and became the latest casualty of the ninth season of the ABC dance-off.
"Out of all the dances I've seen you do," judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Liddell, "you definitely suited the two-step the best. I could see myself walking into a bar and seeing you two-stepping."
The 39-year-old athlete and Anna earned 17 points out of 30 for their performance on Monday night that weren’t enough to save them from elimination.
A public vote and low marks from the judges, led to the retired fighter landing in the bottom two against singer Aaron Carter, and eventually exiting the competition.
”Iceman” – a gentle giant
“I had fun,” Liddell told show co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris after his ouster was announced. “We had a good time, we made a run at it. I mean, it’s difficult, it’s hard to do. So we made a shot at it.”
“It was great,” Anna said of training Liddell for the ballroom. “I had so much fun working with you. I mean you are a gentle giant, you are my bear and you are my hippo, but I loved working with you… I’m so proud of you.”
Next week the celebrities will try out either the Argentine Tango or the paso doble. They will also compete in a group hustle.
