Los Angeles, CA, October 9 -- Until now, U.S. singer and television star Miley Cyrus had been using Twitter to keep her fans informed. But the teen queen has now stopped tweeting, apparently at the encouragement of her new rumored boyfriend.
The "Hannah Montana" star has deleted her popular Twitter account on Thursday, leaving her more than 1.1 million followers puzzled over her abrupt exit. Mile apparently deleted her Twitter page at the behest of her reported boyfriend and "The Last Song" costar Liam Hemsworth.
Miley is a Twitter quitter
In her last tweet, the teen pop star said that Liam did not have a Twitter account and he wanted her to delete her account as well.
Miley, one of the most popular people on the microblogging site, is apparently so in love with Hemsworth that he made her delete her Twitter Account.
“FYI Liam doesn’t have a Twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason,” Miley wrote in her farewell tweet.
Soon after her last tweet, Miley’s @MileyCyrus name disappeared from the site and so did @MommyTish account, the Twitter handle used by her mother.
Fans plea for Miley’s return
In response to Miley’s abrupt disappearance from the micro-blogging site, her ditched fans have come together on Twitter under the heading "#mileycomeback” (a plea for her to come back), which is currently Twitter’s top trending topic.
Miley's followers on Twitter expressed their displeasure by posting Tweets like "!!! nooo!!! she can't delete her twitter!!!! twitter IS miley cyrus!!"; "TWITTER SUCKS WITHOUT MILEY :("; "I can not believe that Miley Cyrus deleted her twitter account"; and "please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please #mileycomeback".
Neither Miley nor her new love have a Twitter account, but the 16-year-old Disney star’s siblings -- sister Brandi and brother Trace -- are still tweeting.
