Scarlett has lashed out at the tabloids for suggesting she had undergone an extreme regimen to shed 14 pounds in weight for her “Iron Man 2” role
Los Angeles, September 30 -- One year after marrying Ryan Reynolds, Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has opened up about her loving life with hubby.
The sultry beauty appears on the cover of an upcoming issue of Glamour magazine and talks about love and relationship in an accompanying interview.
The “He's Just Not That Into You” star sat down for an interview with Glamour magazine for its November issue, hitting newsstands Oct. 6. She talked on a number of topics ranging from movies to music to marriage.
The Golden Globe-nominated actress Scarlett got married to Ryan Reynolds in September last year, in a low-key wedding outside Vancouver in Canada. The two have been dating since Feb. 2007 and had announced their engagement on May 5, 2008.
On marriage and relationship
But, the 25-year-old Hollywood bombshell said her marriage to Reynolds came as a surprise to her.
"I never really thought about getting married—it just kind of happened," she tells the American magazine, referring to hubby Reynolds. "It seemed natural, the right thing to do. It was kind of a celebration of the time."
"I think the only difference is that I'm kind of making my own little family now, which is funny," she said, referring to her post-wedding feeling. "It's like a little bit of a tribe. You hope that a relationship makes you better, that you learn things about yourself.... I feel more confident to explore things within myself that I hadn't thought about in the past."
It is the first marriage for both Scarlett and Reynolds, though the two have been in serious relationships before.
Before her marriage to Reynolds, the American-Danish singer/actress has been romantically linked to several famous men, including New York Yankees baseball star Derek Jeter, actors Benicio del Toro, Jared Leto and Grammy Award-winning singer Justin Timberlake.
She was also coupled with her "Black Dahlia" co-star Josh Hartnett for two years. They split in the end of 2006.
Reynolds, too, was previously romantically involved with Canadian rock singer Alanis Morissette, becoming engaged in 2004.
Johansson’s secret to avoiding paparazzi
The “Iron Man 2” star also revealed the secret about how she managed to prevent herself from becoming a tabloid fodder. “By not talking about my personal life!” she revealed to the magazine.
“I think that makes a big difference. I go to work, I make movies, I publicize them. I hope people enjoy them. I’m not a relationship expert. I’m not a diet and health expert. I don’t know anything except for movies, other than some Trivial Pursuit kind of information.”
What infuriated Johansson?
Scarlett has lashed out at the tabloids for suggesting she had undergone an extreme regimen to shed 14 pounds in weight for her “Iron Man 2” role. Calling the reports "ridiculous," the actress said she couldn't lose that much if she tried.
"There was this rumor mill cranking out stories that I had lost 14 pounds - I could never lose 14 pounds. I hate seeing these ridiculous articles where (tabloids) guess someone's weight," she told Glamour magazine.
Although Scarlett admitted she slimmed down to get into a catsuit to play Black Widow in the forthcoming sequel, she was outraged over reports that she went to extreme lengths to get into the shape.
"I can't look at somebody who is 6 feet tall and 120 pounds and say, I'm going to get that body. That's just never going to happen. You have to work with what you've got."
